Customer Perspectives – Whats Yours?
This video is an extract of a Speech given by David Foster Wallace to Kenyon College’s 2005 graduating class.
I love this video because it reminds me of the customers are around me and what they are experiencing. It also makes me really thing of what sort of customer i can be as well. Its so easy to have an opinion these days and assume what our customers are thinking.
I admit i pass judgement quickly from time to time – especially with difficult customers.
I forgot that they might be having a rough day and the first person they saw was me – this is what i say to myself on these occasions (when i can haha).
I guess the point i’m trying to make is always remember to take a step back in tough situation and look at what really is happening around you. Whether its dealing with customers or when your being a customer, try to change the way you see the situation and adjust accordingly.
Change your customer perspectives by changing your own.
I have showed this to a few of my team members and i got a real mix of responses. It would be a great one to show your team as well!
